Although SharePoint has a lot of features, it doesn’t do everything. Each industry and business still has requirements that are unique which Microsoft has not provided. Fortunately Microsoft has provided the ability for third parties to build on top of SharePoint to provide these custom solutions to the market.

In Australia, we have a term called phone tag. It is the phenomenon of calling someone and getting his or her voicemail. Let’s go back to the example I used in Day 17, where we discussed the pressures of working on submitting a tender document and the benefit of having team members work simultaneously on the document using Co-authoring. I would like to add another level of efficiency to this scenario.
Team sites in SharePoint Online as part of Office 365 are for collaboration between team members working together. The central subject could be a client, a department within a company, an event, or a project. They are useful whenever you have a group of people working together towards a common goal.
Have you ever been in the situation where you had a tender due in the afternoon and your team was behind schedule? Friendships can be tested as the pressure builds and you quickly find out how personalities change as time runs out.
